Our story starts in 2013. After selling his vacation rental in Sunriver, Oregon after 10 years, Sanjay wanted to find a more simple and easy way to diversify into real estate. Rude renters, broken faucets, leaking hot tubs, damaged furniture was just not a fun way to make money.  He was looking for the benefits of real estate investing without the headaches

For the next 5 years, Sanjay started investing in residential and commercial real estate deals. He learned from good deals where he cleared significant returns and bad deals where he lost a lot of his principal. After investing in hundreds of different deals, he was able to build a successful, diversified real estate portfolio that provided passive income and the tax benefits of investing in real estate but without dealing with the day to day management of the properties.

Sanjay thought...what if I could help others build a real estate portfolio in a simple and easy way.  With that, an idea was born. 

While Sanjay had a background in real estate investing, he had no idea how to build an online service that delivered the same capabilities that an online brokerage delivers to investors.  Sanjay partnered with Chirag, who has over 20 years of experience building scalable, enterprise platforms. 


Together, they decided to form Avestor on July 4th, 2018.

Over the next 9 months, they went from scribbles on whiteboards to a fully functioning beta service ready to take investor capital by April 2019 from friends & family.  We are excited as we help our first set of
